KEZA Fashion Show~
Mai was transformed into what looked like a runway show in New York, as the KEZA Fashion Show took place in Nashville. KEZA aims to develop African fashion businesses.
From the presser, “When we first entered Rwanda, we set out to develop businesses for women attempting to break out of poverty. We wanted to free them from dependency on donors and connect them to the same market that allows the western world to thrive economically. Four years later we have BURANGA, a Rwandan owned jewelry business providing 37 mothers with lucrative careers. They are proud entrepreneurs, fully capable of achieving sustainable growth. Through the proliferation of their products, and progressive industry model, they play a significant role in rebranding their country with beauty and excellence.
In order to replicate the template we created through BURANGA, we formed a luxury fashion label and business development firm called KEZA, meaning “beautiful” in Rwanda’s native tongue. Now we’re replicating the BURANGA model all over East Africa.
KEZA provides women with a sustainable income, but equally as important, it allows them to experience DIGNITY.”
Shane Messer & Dr. Michael Thomas hosted the after party.
