You were nominated for what????

…for wearing the tightest jeans, hooking up with the most girls, wearing the least clothes. Yes, these are just a few of the outrageously funny categories for the Nashville Nightlife Awards first ceremony. The Vibe Girls (Leah Hale & Telisha) threw an awesome awards show at The Rutledge. The event was to honor those in the scene that are on the scene.

There were lots of laughs as Ligion and Russel Schenck presented the “Here’s to you…” Bud Light awards. One of my favorite parts was when Walker Shell took home the “Mr. Hooker Upper” award. He pulled out a long list of gals to thank (including OTR girls 1, 2 and 3)!

Performances were nicely intertwined with the award announcements. Among them- SkyHiGirl, Bodhicitta belly dancers, American Bang and Ricky Young.

I had the honor of presenting the VIP Prince/Princess award to VIP Rob.  Winners were chosen online. As with any first time event there are still some kinks to work out, but overall I thought it was a blast!

The after party was at Arial, the new venue on the top of Paradise Park downtown. Right now the spot is only open for special events, but hopefully it will be open full time soon. I absolutely love the view it offers over downtown Nashville.

Rock of Love’s Jes: “I had a boyfriend the whole time.”

So I admit I love mindless TV from time to time. It’s a nice break from my daily routine. I really got into watching Rock of Love with Bret Michaels and now I’m on to Rock of Love 2.

I rooted on the winner of the first season Jes the whole time. So I was super excited when she made an appearance Friday night in Nashville at McFaddens. We chatted for awhile, but I was shocked when she told me she had a boyfriend throughout the whole show. In fact, she has for about a year and a half! “You think you really go on a show like that looking for love?” she asked. Of course I don’t, but maybe too find a dater?

Jes broke it down on the bar, poured drinks and took pic’s with everyone who asked. She stayed until the bar closed down and was super friendly. Earlier in the night the rocker chick stopped by The Trace and Cabana. She told me she loves Nashville.

Also at McFaddens for Jes’s appearance and for the tatto contest- Brooke LaBarbera & MJ Garrett (pictured) from The Real World.

Getting older, but still throwing down…

I have finally put together a small portion of the billions of pic’s I snapped in my nearly week long birthday celebration. Among the spots I visited for the celebration- City Cafe, Lime, Cabana, The Big Bang, Layla’s Bluegrass Inn where Aaron Crisler jumped on stage and sang an awesome version of Good Golly Miss Molly and we wrapped the night up with a little hula hooping at Bar 23. Be sure to scroll down and see them all!

Thanks to all of my great friends & family that came out for the celebration.

Yup I know there are a lot of pic’s of myself, but it was my Birthday…

After my bash I headed to Las Vegas to gamble in the new year! I checked out The Bank (Belagio’s new club) and sat in the VIP alongside Michael Jordan and Perez Hilton. Jordan’s table got bottle after bottle of champagne with firework sparklers in it. Apparently his leg started bothering him so he slid out a little early.

I did a good bit of shopping at the Fashion Show mall (pictured). Yes, a stage comes out of the ground and there is a fashion show every hour.

I also finally caught The Blue Man Group (see my kissed cheek) and for those of you wondering- I came back pretty much even.
My last night we had dinner on top of Mandalay Bay in the Foundation Room. The members only spot was top notch and the view on the roof was incredible. I don’t know how I’ll top it next year!!

Doyle & Debbie looking for Jessica Simpson!

You may have seen local duo Doyle & Debbie on Late Night with Conan O’Brien last week(pictured).  The band is working on a come back after some success in the late 80’s.

Now Doyle is trying to get his latest song picked up by Jessica Simpson, after a slew of country singers turned it down. “We haven’t even finished the demo yet, but we’ve already been turned down by Faith, Martina, Carrie, Trisha, Reba, and Shania, so there’s some buzz on it around town, ” Doyle says.  “We’re hoping to get it to Jessica Simpson by end of the week, Lord willin.”

You can catch Doyle & Debbie every Tuesday night at Nashville’s world-famous Station Inn.

Dolly is heading South to rock~

Country music icon Dolly Parton will be among the hundreds of artists playing this years South By Southwest Music Conference and Festival.

As you may know the festival is known to pull in rockers from all over the world. Dozens of Nashville’s own rock bands will be playing and this year Dolly will as well! She will be live at the newly refurbished Austin City Music Hall.

The festival takes over Austin March 7-16, 2008. If you have never been, you need to go.

Seen in the City~

Country star Toby Keith was seen hanging with artist Bobby Pinson and Titan Jacob Bell at Bar 23 Wednesday night for Culture Club 80’s night. Two Survivor contestants were out on the town Saturday night.

Rascal Flatts’ Jay Demarcus and wife Allison were spotted at Nina D.’s fashion show at Lot 7 Thursday night. Designer to the stars Manuel was also checking out the designs.

Erik Huffman, show contestant and bassist of the Nashville-based band FLOREZ was spotted at Cabana with last seasons co-contestant and his current crush China. The couple later stopped by Tin Roof.

Speaking of survivors, Mindy McCready was also out and about Saturday night. Fresh out of jail, Mindy also hit up Bar 23 with her brothers (pictured). Cameras have been following the county music singer all over town since she was released. Mindy says she is working on a reality show for the Oxygen Network.

Former Nashville doctor & Bachelor:Paris star Travis Stork was seen signing autographs for a slew of fans at Davis-Kidd Booksellers in The Mall at Green Hills. Travis just released his first book Don’t Be That Girl: A Guide to Finding the Confident, Rational Girl Within.

A few luckly folks caught Old Crow Medicine Show performing a surprise set at The Basement Friday night.

Cheers to ‘08!

New Years parties abound in the ville as an anxious crowd looked to greet in ‘08.

(Among those pictured- City Hall owner Austin Ray enjoying the night, Nashville Party’s Shaun B. hard at work, Nashtown’s Dan Birdwhistle & All The Rage’s Heather Byrd going in for the special kiss, DJ Mindub, coat hanging beauty Lindsey Langley & VIP doorman Kil, Jim O’Shea poring the drinks & hot Duo Blaze and Desiree) More pic’s below.

My crew of twenty kicked off festivities with dinner at Cabana. We didn’t expect a line to have already formed at eight O’Clock, nor did the staff. As the night progressed, the line of party peeps wanting to jam with Johnny Jackson stretched almost to Hillsboro road. Johnny played tunes in the back room, that was decked out with festive décor!

Next stop- Nashville Parties legendary throw down in The Gulch. This was one of my personal favorite years for the Nashville Party shindig.Chandeliers glistened as party people shook their rumps in the warehouse. Large screen TV’s added a nice touch as the ball dropped and thousands shared kisses at the stroke of midnight. My group had the perfect spot for people watching in the VIP area.Although we had plans of checking out one more spot for the night, we stayed nestled on on our lovely white chairs overlooking the dance floor.Smokers packed the tent joining City Hall and Bar 23 making it difficult, but entertaining to move between the two buildings.

Nashville Party never lets you down for throwing the biggest party in town on New Years Eve. Heck, even Vince Young was there!Pic’s below of my crew at Cabana and taking the bus to The Gulch.

Seven Signs~

I was one of the lucky ones that actually got a seat for the free premiere screening of Seven Signs: Music, Myth and the American South at The Belcourt Theatre. The showing was at the top of my to do list, because I love Th’ Legendary Shack*Shakers and the documentary is J.D. Wilkes‘ (the bands front man) first film.

The documentary accomplishes J.D’s goal of letting actual Southerners share their stories. The film is chocked full of great bands that we once traveled with.

The Pine Hill Haints (one of my other favorite bands) pleased the crowd with their tunes before the movie got underway. The Haints (pictured) are also featured in the documentary.

Nice work J.D and good luck!

Jack White, Little Richard and Chris Young Among Those Seen in the City~

Little Richard was spotted zooming past a redlight on Broadway Saturday afternoon. A steph in the city reader says the legend even threw a wave as he passed by.

Later that night, Jack White hung in a booth at Lot 7. Brendan Benson of his band The Raconteurs was also hanging out, but that’s not really unusual considering he dates a bartender at the night club.

Kellie Pickler and Jordan Tootoo were spotted together at Virago.

Chris Young was seen at The Stage last Saturday night.

Meantime- Vince Young was seen toasting in the new year at Nashville Parties shindig in The Gulch.

Thanks for all the tips. If you see anyone out and about Email me HERE!
