Hallo-Casino!

charles.jpg
Boo! Happy Halloween to all!

Vanderbilt alumnus and former Chicago Bulls player Charles Davis threw his annual Hallo-Casino at Sambuca Sunday!

The place was decked out with fun spooky decor, delicious finger foods and topped off with all of my favorite gambling tables- blackjack, poker and craps!

Those in attendance were dressed to kill! Charles was a perfect Pharaoh!

Check out the dance contest! I caught Marilyn practically in a backbend! The poor bloody nurse, behind her, almost slid off stage while dancing!

Proceeds from the night went to the Charles Davis Foundation, helping empower inner city youth and families.

Did you make it to any Halloween parties yet?

Reese Witherspoon and Ryan split!

reese.jpg It seems as though our cute hometown darlin’ Reese Witherspoon and her hubby Ryan Phillippe have split!

According to www.tmz.com, the couple’s rep released a statement that says “We are saddened to announce that Reese & Ryan have decided to formally separate. They remain committed to their family and we ask that you please respect their privacy and the safety of their children at this time.”

The couple has been together for seven years and have two children.

Reese used to live at the end of my street and we both attended Catholic schools, so running in to the starlet wasn’t rare.

Nashville Celebrates Country!

Barbara_Mandrell.jpg

It’s finally here- the week leading up to the CMA Awards dubbed Nashville Celebrates Country! There is a list of red carpet affairs!

Broadway Meets Country will kick things off Monday night. The all-star gala benefit concert will be hosted by two-time CMA Entertainer of the Year Barbara Mandrell.

Lorrie Morgan, Phil Vassar, and Trisha Yearwood will be among those sharing the stage with Broadways’ Laura Bell Bundy, Brian d’Arcy James and Ben Vereen.

Here’s the deal- you get to hear Broadway show tunes reinterpreted by country music artists and vice versa!
Should be fun! Tickets are available online through www.tpac.org. If you can’t make it tune in to News 2, you know I’ll be there!

Halloween Weekend!

It is time my little dearies to put on your best costumes and hit the streets! There is no such thing as being to old to dress up and there are plenty of ghoulish activities for the adults out there. Here are a few of my picks if you are looking to get out and about in Nashville this weekend.

Friday night you can’t go wrong with Katy K’s Spooktacular Studio Fifty-Gore Girlesque Revue, if you like burlesque that is. The show at the Cannery Ballroom will feature the Dames of Panty Raid, Kicky LaRue, Monique Honeybush and The Original Sin Twins. Bianca Paige will be the bold and brazen Hostess for the evening.

Saturday night several events will take over your favorite hot spots, but two stick out more than most. The annual City Hall party in the Gulch and Deadmans’ party at the Greenhouse are both sure to be spooktacular. I suggest the Greenhouse; at least at this event one can grab a drink without waiting in line for eternity. The giant haunted tent in the back with DJ Tommy B spinning is sure to be a place you can get your groove on.

I’m still trying to think of a creative costume idea. Any suggestions? Are you dressing up? What are you going to be?

Nearly Nude at the Frist!

noot.jpg This may be a first for Nashville, a nearly nude fashion show at the Frist Center!

I caught up with International Super Model, Noot Seear who is in town for Never Been Kissed- a fall fashion show and auction benefiting Cambodian children living with cleft lip and palate.

Those in attendance can bid on a runway item and the models take the item off in front of you! Noot said it’s their way of saying I’ll give you the clothes off of my back. Hmmm…sounds exciting. Don’t worry the models have swimsuits under the clothes.

There will be a red carpet, food and live music at the event Saturday night.

Noot is an established icon of the fashion world, having worked for almost every design house in New York, Paris and Milan. She is also the chairperson for Rose Charities New York and has been very involved in raising money and awareness for children in the developing world.

Tune in to News 2 at 4 for my interview with Noot!

Nanny Name Removed

The judge agreed today that the former nanny, Alison Clinton Lee did not need to be named in the court documents.

I spoke with Alison’s attorney who says they don’t plan on taking any legal action at this time, although an apology has not been made. The former nanny who has been known to suffer from anorexia spent the day undergoing test and visiting doctors.

Check out my story that will be posted on the video player for more on the Sara Evans divorce case. Take note of Craig’s attempt to talk with Sara after the court hearing…she blows him off, doesn’t reply and looks angry.

Sara Evans and Craig Agree!

My entertainment coverage partner Brad Schmitt has this as the latest on the Sara Evans divorce. I’ll have a report today on News 2 at 5.

Sara Evans and her husband faced off in court for the first time since explosive divorce papers were filed, sparking Sara’s hasty withdrawal from ABC’s Dancing with the Stars.

A Williamson County judge ordered the husband, Craig Schelske, to return half of the about $274,000 that Sara alleges he stole from a joint account Sara said was set aside for church tithing.

But the judge, Robert E. Lee Davies, also ordered visitation for Craig for the couple’s three children, something Sara had tried to block.

The visitation could happen as soon as this weekend.

The judge acknowledged that Craig had no source of income and agreed he needed the approximately $138,000 for legal fees and for Craig to set up a separate residence.

It appeared that Craig tried to get Sara’s attention at one point in the courtroom but it looks like the couple never spoke.

Both Sara and Craig wore suits, and Sara wore her hair in a bun.

Also decided today:

  • Both sides agreed not to talk about the case outside the courtroom, making any possible gag order unnecessary.

  • Craig and Sara will work out visitation of the children among themselves, though Craig is barred from drinking alcohol excessively around the kids.
  • Sara and Craig agreed both will undergo psychiatric evaluations, though the judge was dubious about whether they were necessary.
  • Cameras will be allowed during future court proceedings as long as the media behaves responsibly.

Glen Campbell day!

Glen Campbell-20.jpgAlright it’s not really his “day,” but he will be making several stops around Nashville today.

Grammy award winner and hall of famer, Glen Campbell will be presenting one of his personal guitars to the Musician’s Hall of Fame & Museum around lunchtime. Later tonight you can see the Rhinestone Cowboy himself at the Ryman Auditorium. Campbell will be playing the 650 AM WSM 81st anniversary listener appreciation concert.

The guy has played with Elvis, Merle Haggard and Frank Sinatra! He is a living legend.

Web Site Begs for Sara Evans to Apologize

alisonclinton.jpg
Friends and supporters of Alison Clinton Lee launched http://www.pleaseapologizesaraevans.com/.

Alison is Sara Evans’ former nanny accused of having an affair with the country music stars’ estranged husband, Craig Schelske. Last week a retired FBI agent specializing in polygraphs gave Alison a lie-detector test, which she passed. Alison has demanded a public apology from Evans since the allegations were made.

The site states, “It’s time for justice” and has a spot for supporters to leave comments.

The Evans-Schelske divorce proceedings will be held tomorrow in Nashville. Clinton’s attorney, Ronnie Berke, will be on hand.

Work it Titans!

bj.jpg
The Fourth Annual Wachovia Football & Fashion Show was loads of fun Tuesday night at City Hall.

Several Titans cheerleaders and players were on hand for the cocktail reception, silent auction and fashion show. Drew Bennett crawled like a tiger out on stage in his black fur coat, then jumped off stage to give his date a little love. Brandon Jones, who was voted one of Nashville’s hottest singles, wore his signature sunglasses with his fur hat and coat ensemble (see picture).

Jay DeMarcus of the Rascal Flatts was in attendance with his beautiful wife Alison. Jay donated a signed guitar that this lady bought for four thousand dollars!

The event was hosted by Tennessee Titans linebacker Peter Sirmon and his wife Lindsay. Proceeds went to BRIDGES of Williamson County, a domestic violence shelter for women and children.
